FAQ

Does BodyTalk work for everyone?
BodyTalk is a safe, effective and informative way to drastically improve your health holistically.  Everyone can benefit from having a BodyTalk session.

Does BodyTalk or energy work interfere with other medical treatments?
No, BodyTalk can be used safely and effectively as a complimentary healing modality alongside any other medical treatments you may be receiving.

How does BodyTalk compare to other health and wellness treatments ?

Gentle and safe
– Because of its gentle techniques and simple applications, you CANNOT hurt anyone with BodyTalk; even if the techniques were done improperly the worst that could happen is that there would be no healing response.  BodyTalk has proved to be a totally safe and effective form of treatment.

Incorporate with other practices
– BodyTalk can also be used to help accelerate the healing process of any other type of health or wellness treatments you may be having.

No medication – One of the primary benefits of BodyTalk is that it is does not require any additional medications or supplements to work.

No painful side effects – Your BodyTalk session will be a relaxing and enjoyable experience. You should not experience any soreness or pain as a result of the treatment sessions, with the exception of addressing infections where a brief elevated temperature may occur over a 24 hr. period following the session due to an accelerated immune response.

Save time and money – Effective and fast results afford a speedy return to work or sports activity, and reduce the drain on your finances.

Does not diagnose – BodyTalk does not diagnose conditions or prescribe medications or supplements.  Changes are fundamental; addressing causes rather than symptoms, and are therefore lasting.

How many Sessions will I need?

Everyone is different and the number of sessions needed will vary from person to person.  A common recommendation is a series of 4 to 6 sessions.  BodyTalk follows the innate wisdom of the body, part of the BodyTalk protocol is for the Practitioner to ask at the treatments end if another session is indicated – if so then when will the next session be, or another possibility could be a priority that you see a specialist in a different therapy, such as your family doctor, chiropractor, acupuncturist or another alternative modality.

BodyTalk is literally that…talking to your body, your inborn innate intelligence via applied kinesiology. Your body is wise and knows how long it will take to process the session and when it is ready for new priorities to be addressed.  Best results are seen when you follow the guidelines and trust the process.

What is Applied Kinesiology?
Originally known as “Muscle Testing” by the doctor who discovered it in the early 1980’s, it was later modified to become a form of applied kinesiology, and then advanced for use in the BodyTalk System. A better name would be neuromuscular biofeedback, which allows the practitioner to calibrate your bodymind system to give YES or NO answers to any questions concerning your health, by directly interfacing with your body’s innate wisdom.

What interrupts the body’s own healing capabilities?
In today’s modern world our lifestyle interferes with our body’s healing capability in many ways: stress is at the top of the list; physical stress, emotional stress, financial stress.  Stuck emotions … anger, fear, worry, sadness, grief, guilt or jealousy also take up huge reservoirs of energy and impede the body’s ability to heal.

Chemical substances in the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe; exposure to artificial energy fields and the electronic devices we use daily (power plants, overhead electrical wires, cell phones, computers, TV’s, stereo equipment, microwave ovens, lights, clock radios…) all impedes our bodies ability to heal itself.

Who developed the BodyTalk System?
Australian Chiropractor and Acupuncturist, Dr. John Veltheim developed the BodyTalk System in 1995. Since then it has been taught to over 4 thousand practitioners worldwide. There are more than 100 trained BodyTalk instructors teaching in 35 countries, with translations in 8 languages. Graduates include medical doctors and specialists, psychologists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, naturopaths, physical therapists, osteopaths, nurses, licensed massage therapists, healthcare researchers and laypeople.

Is there somewhere we can go to learn more about BodyTalk
BodyTalk is continually evolving through research by Dr. Veltheim and the academic committee of the International BodyTalk Association (IBA). The application of BodyTalk has expanded well beyond the usual scope of healthcare, proving to be effective in applications such as sports and other performance therapies, animal health, plant and crop improvement and ecological repair.

The International BodyTalk Foundation, established in 2005 for research and education in BodyTalk, has a twofold mission. One branch promotes independent scientific studies to demonstrate and document the efficacy of the BodyTalk System as an effective health care and health maintenance modality.

The second branch is designed to fund outreach projects to bring BodyTalk to neighborhoods and regions around the world where access to basic affordable health care is limited.

The International BodyTalk Association, with headquarters in the USA, has thousands of professional members worldwide.
